Ganoderma Lucidum is the scientific name for a species of Red Mushrooms and is said to be more powerful than Ginseng. Known as the "Miraculous King of Herbs", Ganoderma (also known as Lingzhi in China; Reishi in Japan and Youngchi in Korea) is listed as a Superior Herb in Sheng Nong's Pharmacopeia, an ancient Chinese Herbal Text dating back over 2,000 years. For thousands of years, Ganoderma Lucidum (the Red Mushroom), a kind of medicinal fungi, has been highly regarded by the Chinese as the "Miraculous King of Herbs." Ganoderma is said to be able to improve the body's healing ability, maintain a healthy body and promote longevity. Under the attentive research done by domestic and foreign scholars in recent years, as well as the cooperative analysis and clinical experiments done by hospitals, colleges and pharmaceutical manufacturers, Ganoderma has shown to have the ability to help and strengthen the body function more effectively and efficiently.
With an initial background in orchid plantations and an avid interest in traditional medications, Mr. Leow Soon Seng, a researcher specializing in mycology, began investigative studies on the various species of mushrooms in Malaysia in 1983.
He discovered that the climate (82°F-89°F or 28°C-32°C) and humidity in Malaysia are very conducive for Ganoderma cultivation. After many tests and experiments with the more than 200 species of mushroom, he discovered that Ganoderma Lucidum - the Red Mushroom - has the highest therapeutic value, compared to other types of mushrooms. Only six types of Ganoderma Lucidum have the greatest therapeutic value. Subsequently, these six species are used to produce Gano Excel's Ganoderma.
Mr. Leow has combined the tissue culture concept together with 100% organic elements in order to cultivate the Ganoderma. Paddy husks, brown rice flour and rubber tree scrapes are used as the medium of plantation. No chemicals, pesticides or hormones are used in the cultivation. Exposure to the sun is also controlled in order to produce the highest quality of mushroom. Ganoderma takes approximately 3 months to mature; and the cultivation process is closely supervised, thus ensuring the maximum therapeutic value possible.By using modern and the most sophisticated technology at all levels (cultivation, production, R&D, and marketing), Mr. Leow Soon Seng, who is also the Vice President, is optimistic that Gano Excel will emerge as a major force in this industry
